'looked and sounded energetic'? i beg to differ. at the front part, only the cellos and the percussion made significant movement. if you were refering to the percussion looking 'energetic', i sincerely do not think so. they were just hitting the drums? if they were energetic they would have been jumping around.
the 'pek cek' part comes in after the cellos, and guanyue and xianyue comes in with a somewhat ear-piercing tune with not much melody. this part is where the farmers are being 'pek cek' as you put it.
i should think that you need to watch the whole performance again, with the scenarios we have now described, for you to better understand what we're trying to put across. (:
I of course watch agian alr den comment la *hint hints* DOnt flood my PM HOR PEOPLE

omy this is getting boring..accept this fact: a performance can NEVER be perfect during concerts, even if u think that its NEAR PERFECT, somehow there will always be minor(negligible) mistakes here and there. Nothing is perfect in this world right? All the mistakes cannot be undone! One can point out all the mistakes, conspicuous or not. I don't really see the point in saying so much. The most important thing to do is to enjoy the music, feel the music and play it with your heart during the whole performance. With that done, 音乐发自内心,就能进入人心。Let the music touch people, or in other cases, mouths were simply 'touched' too! But all these won't really matter anymore. With the best efforts pumped in already, the results are out, lets move on with life ( life's more interesting than it seems )

Then when you touched ppl's heart and ppl clapped for you, that is already the best thing ever..even if the judges were not touched or even if the result is not what you expected also nvm already..cos you have touched someone's heart..even if it's only one person, it is still the best thing ever^^

I hope I did'nt offend people in the prev post just seem like the thread is dying so I add on some "constructive crap" i call it. Experienced orchestra should be able to take harder words but new orchestras should get more compliments! so come on guys! stop posting common sensical stuffs and bring some real comments =D that way we all improve! WAH SEH! 乱云飞 was my fave for some time too! I play it on repeat mode for hourss can(彭修文's version of course)here goess my thoughts: 1. I noticed ACJC had quite little members, not easy leh! 2. the song's feeling is difficult to express. cos its not the usual CO da zu song its 京剧 mah! Since all are JC kids its not easy to put that type of 京剧 style into them quickly.
check out the original =P might be funny to you! so long ago those type 爱国song mah http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bg1E8iD9HB4#lq-lq2-hq 3. super hard to make JC aged people like 京剧 and spend their precious experience in SYF playing it! haha. so rrly got to respect shen lao shi to make this brave choice bah!
I feel ACJC CO deserved a GwH award. For such a small CO they really did brilliantly when they played luanyunfei, that song really isn't a easy song for JC kids to play. kudos ACJC!
